Antique table refinishing John and his team are professionals who take pride in their work and deliver quality results. He listens carefully to his clients and also shows much respect for the furniture he is given to work with. He is very polite, pleasant and helpful in his suggestions. My dining table got a second life with a fabulous look. In general, I have been very frustrated by the sloppy services provided by many Canadian firms. John, however, gives me hope for this country!

Great Job
I have a set of antique dining room chairs with wheels on the front. When I purchased the chairs, one of the wheels was not attached. On inspection we found that there was a large crack in the leg. I took it to another refinishing shop. They did a good job but at Thanksgiving the wheel came off again. This time I took it to Johnny’s. He did a fabulous job fixing the wheel/leg. You would never know it was repaired. It is so good in fact that we had to “mark” the chair so we remember which one it was! The work was timely and very reasonably priced. I plan on using Johnny’s for my next refinishing job.

Great Finishing Expertise
I decided to reface my kitchen cabinets with new unfinished maple doors and drawer fronts that I had custom made to fit the existing boxes. I tried to finish them myself with terrible results and decided to have a professional do the job for me. Johnny provided me with a beautiful factory finish in the exact colour I wanted at a very reasonable price. The kitchen is finished now and the change is unbelievable. The result has a very high end look at a fraction of the cost. Everyone comments on the beauty of the wood finish and the amazing results. I would recommend Johnny to anyone considering a wood finishing project.

Johnnys Finishing Shop is the best!
Johnny completed a couple of jobs for us and both of them were very well done. Firstly, he fixed our dining room chair set as most of the chairs were a bit rickety. We also needed to get an intricate piece of furniture partially rebuilt and that also required a fair bit of fixing. Johnny kindly rushed the job for us as we were moving. Despite the rush, he has done a superb job and I would recommend him to anyone. He was a pleasure to deal with and takes his work seriously which shows in the end result. A craftsmen to be sure. My husband and I recently had John refinish all our kitchen cabinets. He took the time to help us select a stain colour that would complement our existing countertops. John was extremely helpful and professional, helping us to select a colour and accommodating the remaining timelines of our kitchen renovation (i.e. flooring installation). Johnny’s did a beautiful job on the restoration.
We own an antique dining table (circa 1880) that had seen better days. It is a beautiful piece with features you would never find on a new piece. It was sagging in the middle where the leaves are, had a centre leg that was unattached, had broken runners and needed to be raised due to the purchase of new dining chairs that required a higher table height. Johnny’s did a wonderful job of restoring the table; he added a turned piece to the bottom of each leg, fixed the runners, secured the falling leg and then urethaned the whole surface. It is absolutely stunning now. The pieces added to the bottom of the legs look like they have been there forever and really enhance the overall look of the table. My only complaint in the whole job was that the table was delivered back to us 11 days after we were told it would be returned – a small price to pay for such a lovely job. I will definitely use Johnny’s services again for my other treasured heirloom pieces; he really cares about a job well-done.
